January and February Monthly Report

Light for Children had the following activities for the months of January and February, 2012.

For the month of January, LIFOC had its maiden socialization meeting at the Cultural Centre on the 28th of January, 2012 to meet its caregivers and children. The caregivers received their monthly allowances and blood booster (zincovit) for the children.

The month of January also saw the arrival of two Swedish volunteers by name Sara and Malin who did their volunteering at the Mampong Babies Home from the 10th to the 17th of January, 2012.


The month of February saw the arrival of one volunteer from Sweden in the person of Sandra Jonsson who arrived on the 5th of February, 2012.She was sent to the Mampong Babies Home to have her volunteering work there.


There was a group work discussion on a one-day sensitization workshop on decentralization reforms and district development facility for civil society actors on the 17th of February,2012 at the Miklin Hotel.


On Saturday, the 18th of February, 2012, Light for Children organized a Health Program me at Amankwadei, a small village in the Ashanti Region where Josh Poshen and a nurse from Nsuta did the administration of drugs. People were diagnosed of their diseases and medicines were given to them.




Finally, the socialization meeting for February was organized on the 25th to meet the caregivers and the children at the Cultural Centre.
